My Favourite Blue Paint

My favourite colour in interiors is blue. Always has been, always will be.

There are so many beautiful new shades of blue paint that have been released recently that I thought I would put together the best ones to show you.

The elegance of the colour below from Paint and Paper Library is just divine. When used in the same scheme as that brown velvet it just looks so rich and buttery!

Then there is Ultra Marine from Little Greene (two below). It is based on the old-school paint from about 100 years ago when they used to crush pure Lapis-lazuli to make the paint.

BLUE PAINT2

Azurite, Edward Bulmer Paint

Blue Opal, Dulux     |   Hicks Blue, Little Greene

How amazing does the kitchen look in navy blue from Little Greene? I love the monochrome look while still having a touch of colour to it. (I also really love the styling with earthenware crockery- another favourite in interiors for me). It makes a real impact to paint your cabinetry and walls in the same colour- breaking it up with the white tiles!

BLUE PAINT5

Hummingbird, Fired Earth

Which one is your favourite?

Lucy, totally agree with you, blue is one of the lovliest interiors shades. Both blue gum and azurite get my vote. We recently used Zoffany’s Prissian Blue in the dining room and it’s positively dreamlike

Ooh, that is a great shade too! I’d love to see pics if you ever wanted to show them off 🙂

I LOVE that kitchen! I agree – I think that earthenware crockery sets it off perfectly.

I also think the office above looks like such a beautiful, serene place to work.

Although, like you, I’m a sucker for blue, so it’s possibly not a totally unbiased opinion… 😉

I’ve just painted two walls of our new kitchen diner in Ultra Blue as it reminded me of Le Jardin Marjorelle in Morocco. Beautiful calming gardens hidden in the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. Can’t wait to finish the kitchen and enjoy this beautiful colour everyday.

That sounds wonderful, Suzy! So glad to hear someone using a bold colour in their home! x
